Our strategy is guided by the Australian Government’s objective to strengthen Australia’s supply chain through nationally significant infrastructure that improves resilience, efficiency and sustainability. We are focused on developing a network of modern, open‑access intermodal precincts that encourage competition, lower costs and support a more productive freight system. This approach supports a more flexible, connected and resilient national logistics network that can adapt to changing demand and future challenges.
What We’re Delivering
Improve Supply Chain Resilience
Investing in Australia's intermodal freight network and supporting the movement of domestically grown and manufactured products to increase resilience and security of supply, recognising the challenges of an ageing logistics workforce and the additional supply chain pressure caused by Australia’s increasing population.
Increase logistics efficiency
Investing in modern and accessible freight infrastructure and intermodal facilities to enhance productivity, increase competition, and ensure resultant cost savings are passed to consumers. These benefits can start to be realised even before the completion of Inland Rail via interconnected terminals in Sydney, Melbourne, and Perth via Parkes.
Improve sustainability
We are leveraging our leadership to deliver stronger economic, social, and environmental outcomes. By co-locating warehouse and supply chain management services at our intermodal precincts, we’re reducing unnecessary transport and providing better connections between sea, road and rail distribution networks while making significant economic contributions to the regions where we operate.
