Australia’s largest intermodal precinct in Sydney’s west is welcoming Kmart Group’s new omnichannel fulfilment centre, underscoring strong market support in the value of integrated distribution networks.
The dedicated fulfilment centre in Moorebank forms part of the precinct’s growing, integrated supply chain network helping to drive more efficient, resilient and sustainable movement of consumer products across the nation’s supply chain.
The new 100,000 sqm facility will modernise Kmart Group’s fulfilment capabilities, enabling them to deliver greater value for their customers.
Scheduled to be operational by late 2027, the facility will play a critical role in connecting Australian consumers to their essential products faster, and more efficiently than ever before.
James Baulderstone, National Intermodal CEO said the Moorebank Precinct was created to enable companies like Kmart to invest alongside the Australian Government and play an essential role in modernising our nation’s critical supply chain.
“The combination of Moorebank’s location, rail and road connections and ability to facilitate highly automated, co-located warehousing, continues to enable companies like Kmart to develop modern facilities that help to ensure shop shelves are stocked year-round and consumer products are delivered efficiently and sustainably.
This investment continues to demonstrate strong market support for the strengthening of the national supply chain network via co-investment at Moorebank with National Intermodal.
We are excited to welcome Kmart to Moorebank and look forward to seeing the success of their new facility. Together with our new modern interconnected intermodal precincts along the eastern seaboard, these distribution facilities will play an important role in delivering on the vision of creating Australia’s world-class supply chain.”
