Frequently Asked Questions
I live near one of the intermodal precincts, how can I give feedback about construction?
I would like to know about warehousing or rail opportunities, who do I speak to?
With links to ports, rail and road, our intermodal precincts will provide warehousing and rail opportunities across Australia’s east coast.
We welcome all expressions of interest or queries about opportunities to be involved.
When will the intermodal precincts be operational? Why do they take so long to build?
Intermodal precincts are large, complex infrastructure projects. As a result, they often take several years to design and construct. Typically, some parts of a precinct will become fully operational while other parts are still under construction.
A good example of this is Moorebank Intermodal Precinct in Sydney where the IMEX Terminal and some warehousing is already operational, with the Interstate Terminal and other warehouses still under construction.
For newer sites outside of Moorebank, design works are currently underway. You can read more about our intermodal precinct activities here
Who is building the intermodal precincts?
National Intermodal, a Government Business Enterprise, is working with industry and construction partners to build intermodal precincts in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane. You can read more about who we are here.
