How feedback is shaping the Project

Community feedback has played an important role in shaping the development of the Beveridge Intermodal Precinct. The feedback gathered to date has helped us understand what’s important to the community and what needs to be considered to minimise impacts and address concerns.

Feedback has influenced:

  • Engagement approach and communication channels

  • Technical studies associated with the Project

  • Measures to manage and minimise potential impacts

  • Proposed construction management and planning.

There are many opportunities to stay informed and have your say, including newsletters, social media, shopping centre pop-ups, and community drop-in sessions.

Works at Beveridge Intermodal Precinct

Works are continuing at the Beveridge Intermodal Precinct as we progress Stage 1 construction, transforming the Beveridge Road site into a nationally significant logistics hub.

Stage 1 includes a permanent rail connection to the national freight network, an operating rail terminal, and locally focused road upgrades, including works to Minton Street and surrounding areas. Future stages, subject to planning approvals, will deliver a fully automated terminal and extensive co‑located warehousing.

What’s happening on site

Over the coming months, you may notice an increase in construction activity across the site. Key works planned from April 2026 to June 2026 include:

  • Major earthworks to level and prepare the site
  • Expansion of site offices and storage areas, with project staff now based on site full‑time
  • Construction of a new driveway and temporary construction access road off Beveridge Road
  • Early works for a new rail bridge at the northern end of the site, including foundation drilling
  • Ongoing Indigenous cultural heritage salvage activities at designated locations
  • Utility service upgrades and drainage works within the project area

A planned rail shutdown is scheduled for 2–5 May 2026, allowing works to be carried out safely near the rail corridor. These works will support future construction of the new rail bridge.

Construction hours

Normal construction hours are:

  • Monday to Friday: 7am to 6pm
  • Saturday: 7am to 1pm

Some works may be required outside these hours, including occasional 24‑hour works during peak construction activities. We will notify the community in advance if out‑of‑hours works are required.

Traffic and road impacts

There will be an increase in construction vehicles, including trucks and heavy vehicles, on Beveridge Road and surrounding roads.

To manage impacts, we will put measures in place such as:

  • Traffic controllers, signage and detours
  • Periods of shuttle‑flow traffic (one lane at a time) on Beveridge Road

From May to June 2026, works to build a new site access intersection and construction road off Beveridge Road may require short traffic holds. Night‑time full closures of Beveridge Road with detours are planned for late May, subject to approvals. More information will be shared closer to the relevant dates.

Managing construction impacts

We are taking steps to minimise impacts on the local community, including:

Noise and vibration
Low levels of noise and vibration are expected for most works. Higher noise levels may occur for short periods during foundation works or rock breaking, with monitoring in place.

Dust management
Dust will be managed using best‑practice measures such as watering materials and covering soil stockpiles.
